Citizens Bank is regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and subject to the Anti-Money Laundering Program requirements of Section 352 of the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001. As such, Citizens Bank has appointed a BSA Compliance Officer; developed policies, procedures and controls designed to guard against money laundering; instituted an ongoing training program; and provided for independent auditing of the program. As part of the Anti-Money Laundering Program, Citizens Bank has a Customer Identification Program and in accordance with Section 326 of the USA PATRIOT Act, applicants for new accounts are required to provide current picture identification that verifies identity including name, address and other identifying information. In some cases, identification will be requested for current account holders if original documentation was not obtained with the opening of the account. In all cases, protection of our customers' identity and confidentiality is our pledge to you. Customer records are maintained for at least 5 years. Applicant information will be compared to government lists of known or suspected terrorist or terrorist organizations and applicants will receive notification that the information they supply will be used to verify their identities.
